Sacramento, California
The rumors that had been swirling around Sac Town seem to be true. Former GM of the Miami Heat, Cyrisnyte has agreed in principal to become the new General Manager of the Sacramento Kings. Cyrisnyte had stepped away from the Heat due to personal issues and in his time there had taken an expansion team and developed them into a playoff team with the likes of Danny Manning, Tim Hardaway and first ever pick Chris Mullins. Now he finds himself taking over a team that has a lot of youth with a veteran point guard running the show. However, the real gem for the Kings and new GM Cyrisnyte is having the #1 overall pick in this year's draft. While Cyrisnyte has had the 1st overall pick before, it has never been in a year where the pick is this obvious.
The Kings look to usher in the Shaquille O'Neal era in Sacramento.
Rumors have it that General Manager Cyrisnyte has had a man crush on Shaquille O'Neal since seeing him play for Cole High School in San Antonio, Texas. After seeing him in the 3A State Championship Game, he followed his career while at LSU. No doubt he is excited that the Kings have the opportunity to bring the big man into the fold in Sacramento. One source said that GM Cyrisnyte plays the following VHS tape to all his staff when talking about the dominance that Shaquille can bring to the court.
While Shaquille will certainly be the icing on the cake, the Kings roster has some young talent on it. With players like Jayson Williams, Cedric Ceballos and Robery Horry the Kings should be much more competitive than 17 wins next season. With the acceptance of the new position, Cyrisnyte had the following to say.
"I was shocked and thrilled when I received the phone call from the Sacramento Kings. I was at a point in my life where I felt I may start to consider returning to the GAH. When I got of the phone with them and agreed to fly out for an interview I was very excited. Now that I am in the position of General Manager once again, I look forward to the challenge of assembling a roster that coach Don Nelson can win with. All of the fans here in Sacramento should be prepared because good things for our organization are on the horizon!"
The insiders within the organization say that Cyrisnyte is already looking to add a lottery pick on top of the #1 overall pick in this year's draft. They also say that GM Cyrisnyte would move almost anyone on the roster for the right draft pick. Will that happen? Time will tell but one thing is for certain, it will be an interesting year for the Kings and their new general manager.
