After deliberating with the fact all 3 guys the Supersonics were hoping would fall to them caretaker GM Cleasby was left with a simple choice. Take a guy who could be great at one end but awful at the other or go with a solid player who could help fill a hole Seattle needed. Seattle selects: Isaac Austin from Arizona State! With Larry Bird forced to play large minutes at centre last year due to the lack of defence in the post this pick should hopefully allow Bird to float across the 3-5 positions and create havoc on the oppositions rotation. Isaac should bring a presence in the post. Whilst he will not get blocks he has proven himself to have solid size and rebounding to prevent a gaping hole the Supersonics have been trying to fill for a few season now. The only downside is whether Austin can stay on the court long enough to make his presence felt hopefully his solid basketball IQ should help in preventing silly fouls.

Another good 4-5 defender/rebounder. Thinking McHale's days 'might' be done in Seattle makes this even more of need pick for Seattle.
Nice selection

Yeah well we shall see but the post was so bad last year I had to play heavy minutes of Bird there!

Solid pick. Hoped he'd last until 24.

I really like this pick. I think the Sonics will have a smooth transition into the post-Bird era when that arrives.
