In looking at how my poor management has landed my poor Nets, I'm considering next steps. Everyone, except for a few guys I just signed this season, is at 0 happiness, so the future is not good. However, it seems like only two players, Pressey and Oakley, have poor Personalities but they're not terrible.
Those who understand Happiness better than me, what do you think is going on? Are they unhappy because they're not winning? We've won 40 and 49 games the last two seasons, but before that we had some real stinkers. Is that enough to do them in permanently? Or do those two poor personalities over time just kill everyone? If I got rid of those two players would that turn things around eventually? I'm having to decide whether to blow the team up or not over this happiness issue, because I suspect we'll have trouble signing any of these guys without paying huge bucks. Any thoughts are great.

I had the exact same issue as you years back with Mo Cheeks and Darwin Cook. The funny thing is that the personality rating didn't seem to correlate. What I mean is that you cut the worst personality but sometimes he's not the issue and it's another player.
For certain it's a player but it's sometimes not the one you think and it's hard to really determine who it is.
Definitely had nothing to do with winning given at the time, we were a 60+ win team.

Looking back in previous seasons, I saw Oakley was always happy when he was starting....even on a 22-60 KC team.
Pressey was happy in Indy and Portland on limited minutes .... commonality both teams were winning
So like Bronson said, maybe a combo of those two not getting wins and not starting has them teaming up to kill the morale?
And then you have a bunch of guys that are very high for wanting playing time. So guessing they jump on the b*tch-wagon when the malcontents start the problems.
So tough to know for sure.....but definitely you shouldn't be 4-18...you gotta try something! Good luck!

I also don't know what's the reason ... but I had the same problem in the first half of last season. Winning more games helped to get some players back to happiness (Barkley, for example) but others didn't (Green, who does not play).
In addition to what Bronson said, I would also add that while it has no impact on performance, it does on Free Agency when it comes to signing new deals with the mother teams. It does not mean an unhappy player may not return, but that it is easier for him to consider other teams. See Shawn Kemp last season, for example.

I had forgotten about playing time too, that's probably a big part of it, since I haven't even been looking the past few seasons at what they want for playing time. Thanks for the thoughts, guys. I'll fire up the game and look at it again. I think they've been at this happiness for a few seasons, since that cost me Kemp for sure, and that was two offseasons ago. So I'm not sure I can fix it but I'll take a look.
