Denver Nuggets Mid-Season Review
24 W -19 L; an streak of 9 wins; 4th in the West & 11th overal. This is summing up the Mid-Season review, but those are just numbers, and Q is too demanding to take a look just to numbers and has ordered a full report about his first months on Denver. And this is what he got.
Whisy-washy season in Denver
On Dispersal Draft time Q had his first chance to show his good vision on franchise managing being able to choose the players he wanted/could due to the 15th pick he was given. First round was easy, the GM was sure that Monroe would be the best choice with KD or Lebrick already choosen. In 2nd round Q’s choice came as a surprise for the rest of the GMs, selecting Jeremy Lin to run the team (Ricky was selected right after Monroe and Linsanity seemed to be the best option). Right after this ones, called to be our franchise players, the Nuggets selected Jonas Valanciunas to fill a Big Three not too charming nor for the rest of the GMs nor fot Nuggets fans. Then Evan Turner, Gustavo Ayón, JR Smith, Rodney Stuckey and BDavis were the ones selected to fullfil a team full of interrogations and without any fair support in the League.
Q was questioned, but he would have time to speak and show his present, but also future plans.
Ups and Downs
Season started as expected, the team wasn’t supported by Denver fans even the team was capable to win over LAL (113-103 & 103-78), MEM (120-113) & ADavis’ SAS (101-80). But this came at the same time with a streak of 5 LOSS games (only 2 on road) and the another 2 streaks of 4 LOSS games vs not contender teams like DAL, PHO, CLE or HOU, even a painfull loss vs TOR.
So the team seemd to be capable of winning anyone but wasn’t able to evidence good manners to be taken as a serious contender, even in a really weak West Conference.
Reaching the top of the NorthWest Division
By half season passed, the Nuggets seem to play better with a 10 WIN streak and all the players giving their best (special mention to JR who has passed a suspension and now is making great effort to be on the team).
We are now at the Top of the Conference too and feel confident about our chance to make a good run in POs.
With Monroe and Linsanity playing above the rest and adding Valanciunas, Turner and Stuckey’s contributions Q is sure he has gather a difficult team to beat.
