1. NAH is a dispersal draft league. What does that mean?
In a dispersal draft league, all players are released into a pool and GMs build their teams from scratch via a draft.
2. So basically a fantasy draft league?
Yes, but dispersal draft is more accurate and avoids confusion with fantasy basketball.
3. How will free agency be handled?
Mostly through DDS. The algorithms have become sophisticated enough to allow for an accurate simulation of free agency. That said, there will be someone in charge of posting news and rumors, and/or responding to PMs so that we don't see a repeat of the NLL O.J. Mayo situation. In-season, you put in a claim on a player and other teams have 24 hours to claim that player or until the next sim time, whichever is later (in the case of weekends, which will be simless.)
4. Is media required?
Yes. Once per real-life month, which equates to about 2-3 months in sim time. That's not too much to ask.
5. Will there be trade exceptions?
No, and there never will be unless DDS ever has built in.
6. Can you trade just cap space or just minimum contracts even if they don't meet the 125% rule?
Yes and a qualified yes. For cap space, however, the receiving team must have enough space to absorb the entire contract coming back. For minimum contracts, they need to be the only player contracts in the deal. The instant another contract appears on either side, whether minimum or not, the 125% rule kicks in. You can, however, add draft picks on either side in a minimum contract trade.
7. Will you be allowed to stash players overseas?
No. Too much hassle for too little reward.
8. What ratings system does this league use?
1-100. 1-10 and Limited Ratings are for masochists and people who hate themselves.
9. Can we hire supercoaches?
No, with one exception. They have the potential to unbalance the league. The exception is if the supercoach is a retired player whose career was at least partly in the NAH.
