Admittedly we're disappointed. We offered him a max deal and have a great team history but he chose Boston who have had one semi decent season.
I don't envy the agent having to make the decision though and respect the decision made.

Really happy to get Chambers, even if he is not able to play until mid January. It is the playoffs we want him for.
As for Drexler, the Kings also offered a max deal (more money as they had Bird rights), but he chose to play elsewhere. I understand the decision, though.
Also, a general comment, we are seeing less signings in the early stages of Free Agency, which I think is good as players are likely considering all potential options. I guess we will see more signings from now on.

I think GAH has the best free agency of all the leagues I am in. The balance of big names and big paydays signing make it a great mix.
Yes Chambers is exactly what Atlanta need so will be very handy next to Barkley and co.

Once they lock up Bowie and Stockton, they will be kinda like the Bulls with 4 big money players. That is good because it means championship aspirations.

Great steal by SA Van Fleming is underrated. Aslong as they hide his bad defence he will be a great pickup at that price.

Defense in the back court overall will be an issue for sure (Pooh and Mitch only others now in backcourt). But had to make a decision on going for one player at 8m per....or three guys at or around ~2.5-3m per.
Hopefully get a couple more depth players at SG and SF to balance out the roster.

Blazers just robbed Kersey. I got put off when I read Portland would do anything to have him return (obviously not pay him for his talent, lol) but I should have thrown a 10+ offer in. Dammit.

I thought Derek Harper went for cheap as well. Thought he'd get similar to Stockton money.

In GAH's current economic environment its important to find savings wherever possible

I put a blank cheque in front of Jerome on day one and said he could decide his own salary. Yesterday, I submitted this offer just so there was something official on the table. I believe its the only offer he got. Obviously happy to get him back at that price.

I don't think you did anything wrong but Kersey is a top talent in this league. GEM are good agents though so I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in their articles or status updates.

It seems the Nuggets transition to the post-King era, whenever that happens, will be smooth. Also, really good signing by the Blazers by adding a veteran like Edwards.

We planned this cap space to coincide with King's last contract and had most expire then so whether it was Smits or Drexler or anyone else, the transition in the coming years was 3 years in the making when King was 30-odd.
