Hoiy trades! Nice to see off-season activity! Never thought I'd see Ewing and Olajuwon both on the blocks...but it should prove to be a good transition year for the GAH.......the free agency should be brutal bidding wars on some of the studs! Manu...you did have the caretaker rules...just not under CBA that might have been missed: nah.boards.net/post/5118/threadljw SAS

There was at least one trade before with a caretaker/main double involved, but it was a very minor involvement from one of the teams with no players moving between the main team and caretaken team. I was thinking it was only a loose rule and would put the trade under extra scrutiny without it being disallowed completely.
The rule makes sense though and should be followed. Apologies.

I will check because I don't remember that. My bad if that ever happened.

I have checked all trades since we started with caretakers and didn't find any involving a caretaker with his own team. Which trade are you referring to?

I'm pretty sure there was a minor Blazers involvement in a massive Philly trade a few years ago. I could be wrong, but I think I was allowed to do that.
In any case, the rule is a sensible one and it's a good idea to be strict on it.

Wasn't Abby still running the Sixers?

Wasn't Abby still running the Sixers? Ah yeah, probably. We had a restriction trading with each other and it must have been allowed for that one deal. So not the same situation after all.

When I saw all those players leaving Detroit, I figured Clippers had moved one of their big salary players to free up cap room and gain flexibility. Getting a lot of talent in return for Hill, but if I were them i would have insisted on moving one of those big contracts (which I will admit I signed while I was caretaking them). Still, if they continue to make moves, this might work out in the end. Hill was a fantastic player, love those kind of glue guys, but not a game changer, so this may work out in Cilppers's favor in the long run, as I think Detroit is going to need more than Penny and Hill in this league.

No 'ill will' to send...but Spurs had Dominique and Richmond paired back in 1990.....to a 34-48 record. we had Fat Lever at PG, Sampson at PF, and Chris Dudley at C......all stayed healthy throughout season. Both scorers were totally unhappy. Richmond 19.1ppg Nique 18.0ppg Hope Knicks can make it work. Good luck Grunter ljw SAS

Forgot he had paired with Richmond before. He's a lot older than he was then and seemed content with whatever minutes I gave him last season. I had a few scorers on the roster with Robinson, Thomas, Starks, Kersey. Will be interesting to see if that specific pairing with Richmond causes trouble again.

Looks like the Blazers GM has really done the Knicks over.

Looks like the Blazers GM has really done the Knicks over. Nah...it could've been any number of things. If I remember correctly, I was several games over .500 by Jan 1st...only to have the wheels fall off and us not win a lick for remainder of season. And no rhyme or reason I could figure out. I did have bench players that were not happy without minutes...like Ken Norman, Anthony Bowie, Ennis Whatley....so not sure that helped or not. I just didn't have chemistry that season. 'Nique has been paired with studs though in the past: Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Isaiah Thomas, Kersey, Richmond, and now KJ and Richmond again. Best season in '89 when with GSW they made West Conf Finals but lost to Seattle. Good luck ljw SAS

Looks like the Blazers GM has really done the Knicks over. Why do you think I asked you to join the league?

Is that kind of pick protection even allowed here? Top 24 if not no first rounder lol deal makes no sense.
