With the 9th pick in the 1993 GAH Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select Nick Van Exel from Cincinnati. In what will be the second season of the expansion Timberwolves, the team hopes pairing Van Exel with Tom Gugliotta is a good foundation as the team moves forward. The league owned Timberwolves considered that Van Exel was the best point guard available and, despite not being a classical pass-first point guard, he can help the franchise big time. Great handles, ability to score and three-point range make Van Exel one of the most intriguing prospects in this draft. He needs to improve a lot on the defensive end, though, but Minnesota is happy with Van Exel on board.

The Wolves is a perfect place for him to start....get oodles of minutes...and oodles of shots! Should be fun watching him play...on offense! Hoping to see Gugliotta as well play this year.....he was always on a fantasy ball team for me in the 90s....got good stat lines from him always. CPU sent him down and he averaged 17.5, 4.3asts, 8.1rebs...something I think he could do on the Wolves roster. ljw SAS
