With the 9th overall pick in the GAH Draft, the Charlotte Hornets select Kelvin Cato. The Hornets are happy to add Kelvin to the stable of big men on the team in the hopes that he will be dominating presence down low. Originally thinking they would go with a G/F, the scouts for Cato were thrilled with what they saw from him during his workout and demanded they pull the trigger now or regret it for the rest of his career. Strengths+ Offensive and Defensive Rebounding + Shot Blocking + Man to Man Defense + Interior Shooting + Ridiculously consistent + Can start from Day 1 Weaknesses- Not a scoring threat - Dumb as a stump - Foul prone - The opposite of a gym rat Player Interview

Nice pick, scouted well and was on my list of potential picks.

Certainly has great mentors in those two (who both came to Charlotte by way of New Jersey). Should make for a strong rotation when he develops.

I thought he'd be available at 17 - good defender/rebounder but not much else.

Did scout him for the #22 as well. His scouting looked good, so not too surprising he went earlier.

Wasn't expecting to see this name so early, but based on what others have said, seems like a good pick. The big men just dominated picks 6-9.

Another defensive big man. These are the 90s.
