Welcome Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki
Charlotte, NC
Finally, the draft is picking up much quicker than it was before. The Charlotte Hornets were able to make two picks. The Hornets got a second chance at a particular player, one that they drafted back in '96 and ended up trading. The former league MVP, two time finals MVP, five time NBA Champion, and fifteen time All-Star, Kobe Bryant. Management expressed their desire to win now, and bringing Bryant to the team, certainly puts them in that direction. "I had a tough decision to make when it was finally our time to draft. With the boss (Jordan) sitting next to me, the names that I had in front of me were Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony (drafted five picks later to Atlanta), and Derek Rose (drafted nine picks later to New Orleans). I decided that Kobe has what neither of the other two players have...a ring...five to be exact, and he fits in with our future plans as well." assistant GM Rich Cho was quoted earlier.
Then, the second round finally started, and as teams kept with the current trend of drafting young high potential talent, that left another former MVP, finals MVP, NBA Champion, and eleven time All-Star...Dirk Nowitzki. And the Hornets took advantage of that opportunity to take Dirk. "He's a great guy, great player, we like what he does on the court, has the experience we want on this team, and also fits in with our future plans as well." Cho said after making the selection.
Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki will team up to try and bring a championship to the city of Charlotte.

It certainly appears that the Hornets don't care about age at this time, they just want to win. The fans love it too, Twitter has blown up since the selection of Nowitzi. With a scoring tandem of Kobe and Dirk, it'll be hard for defenses to properly defend them. "We're excited about the duo together, and we're going to draft players that will compliment both Kobe and Dirk while also still being good on defense. We were serious, the fans of Charlotte have waited long enough, it's Buzz City's time to shine now." Cho said.
Fans so far, have tweeted that they're eager to see who else will join the team, and have complete confidence in management this time around. Time will only tell who else will join the Hornets.
