Clippers Report
Blake Griffin is on his way to Miami Beach. In a bold move to rebuild the team the Clippers traded him for the 3rd pick in the draft. They get near $14 in cap space to add to the ammount they have to bring their free agent cap available to around $30m.
Blake will take his high fly act to Miami
The Clippers are now armed with the 2nd and 3rd pick in the coming NAH draft. They have been studying the players in the top 10 intensely and have some idea of who they will take. The have been tight lipped about who they like most but rumor has it if Trey Burke, Victor Oladipo, and Otto Porter, assuming the Orlando Magic take Anthony Bennett with the 1st pick.
Anthony Bennet by all consensus is the best player in the draft. A SF out of UNLV he is 6'7" and 240 lbs. His upside potential is awesome and he may turn out to be the star in the league. The Clips are almost certain Orlando will take him.
Otto Porter is a SF out of Georgetown. At 6'9" and 200lbs he is a nice height for a SF and a prolific scorer. He can be muscled though and needs to hit the weight room if he is to play to the NAH level well. He is highly motivated and will likely do that . He would be an upgrade at SF and he might play SG for the Clippers.
Victor Oladipo is a defensive star out of Indiana. A SG he weighs in at 213 and is 6'4" in tall. He would be an upgrade over Austin Rivers who lacks defensive skills and is more of a PG than a SG in the Clippers coaches view.
Trey Burke is an outside shoot to be piicked by the Clippers. He is the best PG in the league but the Clips have Brandon Jennings who is due for a new pay chack and Austin Rivers a SG that is the best passer on the team and coaches see him as a PG.
Cody Zeller has drawn some interest from the Clipper by one report. A PF/C he might help replace Blake. It would give the Clippers the "twin towers" some teams aspire to have. The Clips would probably trade down to get multiple picks or a player and pick to nab Cody. Cody, he sure belongs in the West someplace.
The Clippers are looking forward to the draft and many seasons in this league. These moves show my faith the league will prosper in the long run.
