So the 16 playoff teams are decided, but the seeds are still up for grabs. Here are the likely battles (not all mathematical possibilities, just the likely ones)
1. Boston Celtics - 55-22 (1st or 2nd) 2. Chicago Bulls - 54-24 (1st or 2nd) 3. Indiana Pacers - 52-26 (look set in 3rd) 4. Washington Bullets - 44-34 (4th or 5th) 5. Cleveland Cavaliers - 44-35 (4th or 5th) 6. Atlanta Hawks - 41-37 (look set in 6th) 7. Miami Heat - 39-40 (7th or 8th) 8. Detroit Pistons - 38-40 (7th or 8th)
So an Indiana vs Atlanta series looks very likely, as does Washington vs Cleveland with the HCA there still to be decided. Boston and Chicago will get Miami and Detroit in some combination of 1v8 and 2v7.
1. Los Angeles Lakers - 58-20 (look set in 1st) 2. Denver Nuggets - 54-24 (look set in 2nd) 3. Golden State Warriors - 51-28 (3rd or 4th) 4. Portland Trailblazers - 50-29 (3rd or 4th) 5. Seattle Supersonics - 45-33 (5th or 6th) 6. Houston Rockets - 44-34 (5th or 6th) 7. San Antonio Spurs - 41-36 (7th or 8th) 8. Memphis Pyramids - 40-38 (7th or 8th)
Spurs and Pyramids battling for either a Lakers or Nuggets matchup in the 1v8 and 2v7 series. The Warriors and Blazers will have HCA over the Sonics and Rockets but the matchups there are still to be decided.
