PM with subject: TEAM NAME - PLAYER NAME
=============================
Any OFFICIAL OFFERS to a player must be sent in this format...stating you would sign player for the terms below:
Player
Team Name
Years
Raises
LLE/MLE/Bird Rights
Year 1 salary
Year 2 salary
Year 3 salary
etc.
===============================
Please also state if you need to renounce additional players to have cap room to sign. That way we can plan to post the signing and the renouncement in parallel, making it easy for Manu.
Be mindful of your cap space..I will take a quick look, but will not calculate all your signings up to minute and where you stand in cap. (Being offered a deal that is revoked by the commish due to money, means the agreement is null and void. The player still might come to your team for the restructured deal, but it can be a detriment)
It's fine if you let us know there is other players pending signing or not before confirming a deal. We will let you know when the player needs to pull a trigger. Waiting indefinitely for a deal that might not come because three things needs to happen might have him go with a sure thing instead.
All normal criteria weighed in the decision of accepting offers (really factors in when these ratings are high (over 65)):
-------------------------------------------
Age -> Older means more hungry to find a ring...but indeed retirement money is always a good thing
Loyalty -> Win or Lose, team and player showing loyalty will weigh heavily in them not skipping town
PlayForWinner -> The toughest category to decide upon. Only a handful of teams are perennial winners. Lots are on the verge. If you are lottery though, this can hurt your chances dramatically. (Please show your vision of how you will succeed if going after a high PFW and you don't have the current track record)
Greed -> Money lovers are easy to please....provide a contract that increases from previous years, and has raises, and they will jump fast. Less then recent will have them waiting and waiting for the right contract
PlayingTime -> Another tough one where the other above factors weigh in. Winning and playing less is easier to swallow then losing and sitting. Make an effort to provide the expected role on the team in the talks.
--------------------------------------------
(*Each player handled by NBA PA will have a short note on the player and his expectations in the master list)
