A few updates

First of all, let me thank once again our four Player Agents for the excellent work they have done.
As you sure have noticed, activity has decreased signficantly over the last season and specially offseason. We are down to nine active GM's, with one more coming back eventually (Heat) and two more that I don't know what happened to them because they disappeared suddenly (Rockets, Cavaliers). Best case scenario is we are at 12 GM's next season ... with a 27-team league. That's not too promising.
A few ideas, both publicly and privately have been brought up by different GM's. League contraction may be an option in the future, but we just had an expansion and changing the number of teams requires a new file. It can be done but I do not feel like doing it too frequently. Maybe in 2-3 seasons it can be considered. We may bring in new GM's, but that is something that looks difficult right now. Not sure how it is in other parts of the world, but in Western Europe August is the vacation month for most of the population so probably it's not the best time to try to get new GM's.
With that in mind, there will be two changes for the upcoming 1992-93 season.
1. All GM's can manage two teams, one per conference. Those of you acting as caretakers will keep your second team, and the rest can choose among the rest of the open teams with the exceptions of the three previously mentioned (Heat, Rockets, Cavaliers). The list at the end of this post will be updated as GM's choose their second team. I will be the last one to choose. So please, post in this thread the second team you want.
2. We will be switching to DDS Free Agency and in-game financials. Our Player Agents have done an excellent work over the years, but with nine GM's and four PA's, it is difficult to manage from a league perspective. The FA period that just ended proved that, with so few teams bidding on players. CPU teams will bid on its own next FA period, so that will make things more challenging. Of course, we will have something in place when the moment comes so GM's without the game are not at a disadvantage.
I need to manually enter into the game all signings, so I hope I can send the file in two-three days and we can start the 1992-93 season next weekend.
