Pelicans tabbed Rose as "Face of the Franchise"
Luck may be not on their side during the lottery for the Dispersal Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans found itself lucky enough that former Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose fell on its lap with its 26th pick overall selection. While, not regarded as a popular choice considering the systematic approach by GM rh0xxy, the Pelicans did not waste the opportunity of getting a player who can be a foundation of the Franchise for years to come. Curiously, Derrick Rose drop from the rankings may be due to his history of long term injuries in the past. The New Orleans Management is well aware of that and is willing to take the risk for the former NBA MVP.
"We're delighted to get DRose, we did not expect he would fall to our spot at all. It's a blessing in disguise to have a lower pick after all" said GM rh0xxy with jest.
The Pelicans had a decent Pre-Season showing ending up 6-3 with wins over Phoenix, Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Portland, and Houston; and losses to Golden State, Cleveland, and LA Lakers.
"We may not be as talented as the the other teams in the league right now, but we'll give those teams a run for their money" expressed with confidence by the soft-spoken GM.
Derrick Rose is set to return from a long layoff with a goal in mind and that's to hoist the Championship trophy after the Inaugural NAH Season. Derrick Rose, who is tabbed as the "Face of the Franchise", is expected to lead the charge for the Pelicans who will also parades a combination of youth and experience in Mike Conley (24), Gerald Wallace (29), Thaddeus Young (23), Samuel Dalembert (31), Elton Brand (33), Shane Battier (33), Luke Ridnour (31), JJ Barea (27), Metta World Peace (32), Jason Maxiell (29), Roger Mason (31), and Andris Biedrins (26).
