Spurs win 99-88 at homeRecap: Strong 1st half 61-40. We needed it as second half we only score 38! Our interior played better....as Kemp/Shackleford/Mutumbo were 12/41 shooting, and Dumas/Burrell combined for 21 pts. Strickland was huge...but I have to pick my poison given Charlottes talent. Hornets shot 37%. We tied rebs...even with being -15 OReb. We also were sloppy, with -12 TO. However, we shot 54%FG 54% 3pt. Starters scored 83 of the 99pts.....so bench needs to be stronger BJArmstrong 27pts 4rebs 6asts 1stl 6TO Petrovic 20pts 3rebs 7asts 1blk 3stls Camby 12pts 13rebs 3asts 4blks 1stl PJBrown 12pts 8rebs 3asts 1blk 1stl Bowen 12pts 6rebs So..this reminds me of the old 80's boxing......Sugar Ray Leonard(Spurs) vs Tommy Hearns(Hornets) We try and duck and move and jab our way around, while Charlotte is looking to stand in the middle and knock our block off with power. I'm glad we at least won twice....to not embarrass our West conference! We get somewhat of a blow with PF Gary Trent breaking wrist and out now. He was our only 'true' post threat....and did a lot in earlier round of playoffs vs Clippers/Rockets/Suns to help us get here. He was limited in this series as per the dominance of the Hornet front court...but nonetheless without Trent and Sampson makes the remaining big men for Spurs need to dig deeper and play longer. Game five...here we come. ljw SAS

We felt good about this game, but couldn’t pull it out in the end with our strong 2nd half. Will need to look closer at the game to see what needs to change but we need another backcourt defender.
