San Antonio had high hopes in the past season, and failed miserably. The team fell apart, and 12/15 demanded trades. Given the situation, it was felt best to due another shakeup. 9 players were renounced. And this deal is another big one for re-shifting the future of the franchise. We by no means are looking to blame Dominique for the ugly season (although since he was dealt it will appear that way). He was a professional and gave 100% effort the entire year. We just didn't have the right chemistry and balance to get victories. I'm sure Wilkins will continue a great career in Dallas. "Cadillac" goes to Detroit...which is fitting. He was a good reserve for me at the 4 & 5, but was needed to make this deal complete. We bring in a very good veteran SF in Terry Tyler. He is defensive minded, is a great shot blocker for a 3, and doesn't look to take many shots, but is efficient in offensive selections. (sounds like Larry Nance??) C Kurt Nimphius was on some great teams, and also provides more defense then offense. He also can protect the paint and block shots. C Olden Polynice joins his Cavalier alum Sampson to round out the trade. A good rebounder, he will most likely be sharing minutes with Chris Dudley at the 5. The centers added will replace the ones lost in renouncements and trade. I also free up a little more cash, and with renouncements, can make a splash into FA. 2nd round additions of Randy Brown and LeRon Ellis will maybe make the roster. Thanks Dal and Det for the deal!
