LeBron James joins the Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics have selected LeBron James with their first pick in the NAH Dispersal Draft. After the San Antonio Spurs went down the youth road with Anthony Davis, it took the Celtics front office just seconds to settle on their pick. In fact, James wasn't even in the conversation earlier in the day as reports indicated the Spurs would take James at number one overall. The Celtics were said to be considering Anthony Davis along with more established stars for the pick before James became available.
James is a franchise player, widely regarded as the best in the world, and can win games by himself as he proved in Cleveland and when he later went to Miami alongside Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade. The biggest question now is just what type of talent will Boston surround him with. They won't pick until the second last pick in round two. A point guard will almost certainly be on the agenda sooner rather than later. The drop off in talent available will be significant the next time they pick, but with almost back to back selections, the team will take shape rather quickly. James is under contract for three seasons at the very least which means the team can afford to bring in some younger players on cheaper contracts without affecting the teams window to compete.
Expect the Celtics to look for a Point Guard and big man in the next two rounds.

At 27, James is still young enough that if you need a year or two to accumulate more talent around him, you're still going to be fine. Curious to see who you surround him with, though.
